
Central New York has developed a strong spirit of community, and social media has become an important means for fostering this spirit with organizations and individuals taking to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube et al to encourage local tourism, promote the purchase of local products, and help birth and grow local businesses.
Join us for a conversation with five individuals well versed in the use of social media to promote civic pride: Marty Butts (Small Potatoes), John DeSantis (Believe in Syracuse), Chris Fowler (SyracuseFirst), Bethany Holbrook (Downtown Committee of Syracuse) and Ty Marshal (Syracuse New Times).
The program is in the Wells Ballroom, second floor of SKY Armory, on South Clinton Street at Walton Street in Armory Square. Parking is in the South Clinton Street Parking Garage, 352 S.Clinton St. (self-pay), or on street (free until 9 a.m.). Breakfast is provided. A tour of SKY Armory will be offered at the conclusion of the program for anyone who would like to stay for a few minutes.
